Recap: Finale of "I Miss You" starring Yoon Eun Hye and Micky Yoochun

Here's what we've been awaiting for more than two months. Brace yourselves people! Actually, there's nothing to brace yourselves for because it was sort of a lame finale.

The episode starts with some weird flashback scenes...then we get down to business.

I'm watching this thinking: did JungWoo even have a plan of action walking into that warehouse? Or was he just planning to be a hero? SooYeon at first did not even remember that the warehouse was the location where she and JungWoo were held captive 14 years ago.

Meanwhile, Lee SooYeon's mom goes to the police station where she overhears a conversation with Han Tae Joon who is being held in police custody. A very heartbreaking confrontation ensues between them.

Back at the warehouse, Kang Hyung Joon Harry torments SooYeon with memories of that night fourteen years ago. JungWoo says that he still can't forgive himself for what he did. The police arrive and JungWoo notices the laser beam next to Harry indicating that they're about to strike him down but the laser is off target but Harry isn't even moving. I hate when movies do dumb tricks like that.

Harry points the gun at SooYeon so they can both go to paradise together. JungWoo tells Harry that even if he kills SooYeon that their love will still grow stronger. Harry points the gun at JungWoo and SooYeon runs to him and blocks his aim. JungWoo pulls SooYeon away and Harry shoots him in the shoulder. The dumb policemen now rush into the building, idiots! Harry tries to shoot himself but the cops get him first.

There's that yellow umbrella in the room but JungWoo regains consciousness. I guess it's not bad luck in Korean culture lol. Anyways, JungWoo is back to his criminal beating/interogation ways and he aint scared of no one. He even tells the criminal "if I get fired for doing so, I'll just open a spicy rice cake shop". So much win!!

Look at this happy family sitting down and having dinner together. Why do I find it so hard to believe? Certainly possible but I have my doubts..oh well, it's kdrama world and anything goes

JungWoo visits his dad in prison but his dad has no words for him. Actually, just two words "Crazy Bastard". His dad is so unrepentant. Harry is now in a mental institution and looks like a truly sad case. He's lost his memory and barely speaks. SooYeon and JungWoo visit him but he doesn't say a word to them.

Cute pic:
It's the first snow fall and time to tie the knot! This is sort of a symbolic wedding I guess, cos there's no priest or officiating minister, just both of them in a church. JungWoo says:

If the wind blows, we'll block it for each other.
If it rains, we'll share the umbrella
On the days of the first snow fall, we'll meet up like this
Let's endure the tough times with the strength of our love and live our lives that way.

Weird flashbacks for about 5 minutes...totally pointless! Then a what-could-have-been scene if JungWoo, SooYeon and Joon met as kids and were all friends with each other. The drama comes to an end as they walk out of the chapel.

Thoughts
Let me start off by saying that this was an ok drama. It started off really strong and kinda collapsed towards the end. Like I said in my previous recap, it seemed like the writers couldn't think of a story line and were scrambling last minute. A lot of it made no sense (the police and JungWoo were so silly), meaningless flashbacks and a general uncohesiveness. Speaking of uncohesiveness, although I loved the happy ending (somewhat), what a sad ending for Harry. I was expecting a sad ending because of that scene in the beginning where JungWoo and SooYeon are running away and JungWoo is shot and collapses. That scene never made it to the final cut I guess. Fan service.

In terms of acting, I give it up to the the kid actors Yeo Jin-Goo and Kim So-Hyun for an awesome performance. Micky Yoochun and Yo Seung Ho did a wonderful job as well. Yoon Eun Hye was crying for most of the drama, that doesn't really need a lot of talent so I guess she was alright.

Rating: 3/5
