Pearlle Kpop chat #9: Recap of "I Miss You" (ep. 16 & 17)

I'm going to pick it up from where I left my recap of "I Miss You" a few weeks ago. Check out my previous post for the synopsis.

I Miss You, kdrama

Recap
In episode 16/17, ish hits the fan and it ain't pretty. Soo Yeon and Jung Woo's relationship goes a step further despite all the chaos around them. Although Jung Woo has lost his job as a police officer, this doesn't stop him from continuing the investigation.

In his quest for the truth, he moves back home because he figures being as close to his father will help unravel the mystery surrounding the events that happened fourteen years ago. Harry pays a visit to Han Tae Joon's house and  enters the room where his mom is being kept. Unfortunately, his mom doesn't recognize him and Harry loses it. Harry confronts Zoey about knowing the truth about Han Tae Joon. Zoey fires back that although she knew, he should stop acting like he didn't know either.

Jung Woo pays a visit to Detective Choi who he calls grandfather and he finds out the truth. A picture revealing Soo Yeon's kidnapper as well as a picture of a young  Kang Hyung Joon (Harry). Jung Woo puts 2 and 2 together, gets 4 and reveals to Harry & Zoey hat he knows the truth. Harry tells Zoey that he killed Kang Sang Deung and he did it for her, and can do more if she wants. He also says that Jung Woo is stealing her from him and I was like "wft, he had her first idiot". Zoe collapses from the BS shock. Jang Woo takes her home from the hospital where she is reunited with Eunjoo and her mom. In a really moving scene, Eunjoo accept Sooyeon (Zoey) back into their home.

That scene was sooo moving and I felt really bad for Eunjoo because she had to endure all that pain because of her father`s efforts to find Sooyeon. Moving on, Zoey goes to Harry's house but doesn't see him but finds his secret room instead. She then watches as Harry kills Han Tae Joon's wife and comes downstairs to find out that Harry has framed her as "punishment for not loving me".

Zoey receives a call from Jung Woo and they meet outside the house, just as the cops arrive. Jung Woo pulls out a gun and tells the cops that he's not letting Sooyeon go and that's where the episode ends! WOW!!!

Analysis
Eunjoo was spot on when she called Sooyeon a weakling. She watches as craycray happens and just sits there frozen or crying, sometimes even both. Are you kidding me?

Harry is a psychopath. In this mind he's doing all that in the name of love, aint that sick? Sooyeon would never have been temporarily his in the first place if not because of his mother's greedy actions. In fact, he never would have even met her. He has to grow up and quit killing people because of his childhood experiences.  He needs to rot in hell.

Acting (awesome crying)
The acting here is spot on! I was just reading an article on Allkpop where readers were complaining about undeserving idols getting acting roles just because they're idols **cough Kim Hyun Joon in Boys Over Flowers cough** I have to say that he's a wonderful actor and I'm going to check out some of his previous dramas.

In the same vein, 19 year old Yoo Seung Ho played Harry perfectly and I couldn't have asked for a better choice. I can't really say much about Yoon Eun Hye's acting because all her character does is look sad and act shocked.
Park Yoochun

Let's talk about crying. How do actors get so good at crying, especially in a drama like "I Miss You" where there's so much of it? Here's a video of Yoochun (Jung Woo) joking that he cries in every episode of the drama. Oh, the games one could play whenever an actor in this drama cried *sigh*

Fashion
This post is already super long so I'm going to dedicate this week's Style Spotlight to Yoon Eun Hye's standout outfits in "I Miss You".
