Funny "Black questions" people have asked me

You're probably thinking "what are black questions?" Black questions are questions non-black people ask black people about "being black". Some of these questions could be stereotypes, fair enough but most of them were asked by my friends who have not been around black people and don't really know how we are. I hope that makes sense.

1. Who is Big Mama?
I don't remember exactly how this happened, but I basically made a statement about "black movies" while my friends and I were having dinner. You should have seen the expressions on their faces!! They had no idea who Big Mama was, neither did they know anything about Tyler Perry or Madea. *face palm*

2. Why don't you wash your hair everyday?
One of my girl friends had heard this "rumor" and wanted to clarify. I had to give her a lecture on black hair care haha

3. Why don't black people see big foot but white people do?
This is a joke one of my very sassy friends apparently read online and wanted to get my take on the issue.

4. How do you survive the sun? You're black, isn't it hotter?
Same friend in no.3 was not joking when he asked me this question. I was lost for words, literally. I burst out in laughter instead because I couldn't think of a suitable answer. His logic was that if you fill a white and black cup with water and place them under the sun, the black cup would get hot faster. This means black people should feel hotter than white folks but they usually don't. LMAO

5. Why do you have baby oil in your room?
Two friends came to my dorm room and saw baby oil and wondered why I had it in there. I gave him my "duh look" and answered "So I don't look ashy". Poor dude didn't even know what ashy meant! *face palm*

Living in Victoria, BC (Canada baby!!) is definitely different but I love it!!
