Usain Bolt is still the world's fastest man: Making A Difference

Usain Bolt answered the critics firmly confidently today by successfully defending his Olympic gold medal and title as the World's fastest man.

He defeated a star-studded line-up of former world-record holders, athletes who are all the best in the world right now. But that didn't stop Usain Bolt from smashing the Olympic record set by him at the last Beijing Olympics. He won today's 100 meter dash with a time of 9.63 seconds 9.63 seconds. Even if he didn't beat his world record, that's fast running for a human being.

Also worth noting, all but one of every other competing athlete in the 100 meter dash completed the race under 10 seconds, the first time such a feat is happening at the Olympics. Man is getting faster.

Making a difference
Usain bolt is the first individual featured on Pearlle's "Making a Difference" in August. Why?

Here's 7 reasons:
1. Usain Bolt is 6 foot 5 inches tall. Prior to him being the world record holder, his height was considered to be a disadvantage. Being tall once meant you couldn't run fast.
2. Usain Bolt learnt from his mistakes. He realized that not training as hard as his fellow Jamaican, Yohan Blake, could cost him his title, he got back to training hard.
3. Usain Bolt didn't let injury stop him. Usain Bolt (at his height) has some issues with his back. Not only that, he's had a couple of injuries in the last year that many feared would slow him down. Clearly not the case.
4. Usain Bolt didn't let defeat discourage him. He's been beaten by other athletes in some races. But whenever he's in a major race, he shows up and runs better.
5. Usain Bolt is ambitious. He hopes to eventually compete in the 400 meter dash, a race that the current World Record holder "Michael Johnson" says requires insane training that he doesn't miss.
6. He is an entertainer. Usain Bolt is always fun to watch.
7. Usain Bolt gives credit to God for his running gift. That alone deserves him a spot on Pearlle's "Making a difference."
