Today we mourn the death of two inspiring women: Reeva Steenkamp & Goldie Harvey. Reeva was a law graduate, an activist and entrepreneur. She was passionate about inspiring women and was scheduled to speak in a high school today as well as star in a reality show, Tropika Island of Treasure this weekend. She was killed by her boyfriend, Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius.
We've shared our admiration for Oscar Pistorius here at Pearlle and it is very tragic that this happened. We're going to focus on the victim and stick with what the facts as we know it:
-Oscar Pistorius shot Reeva using a 9mm pistol four times in the head and hand
-There had previously been incidents of allegations of a domestic nature at his home
-Witnesses (neighbors) are being interviewed and forensic staff are still at his home
-Police plan to oppose his bail application on grounds which have not been revealed.
Nigerian singer, Goldie Harvey also passed away a few hours after arriving Lagos from Los Angeles where she attended the Grammy Awards. Details have not been revealed at this time. Sad sad day.
