Style Spotlight: April by Kunbi
Today's Style Spotlight feautures April By Kunbi, the brain child of Olakunbi Oyelese.
Kunbi is a graduate of the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. According to their Facebook page, the line was founded in the spring of 2010 and inspired by the month of April – the start of the Spring season, April by Kunbi has been built on the philosophies of “newness, freshness and colour”.
I love the elegance and sophisticated nature of the line. I absolutely love the yellow evening gown Genevieve rocked a few weeks ago:

Style Spotlight: Just Smitten by Bum-Cake Vintage
We featured BUM-CAKE's amazing "Dazed" collection last year. Well, here's something from the vintage line. BUM-CAKE Vintage is a Brooklyn-based online destination for restored unique vintage clothing, accessories, and jewelry. BUM-CAKE embodies all that is vintage/retro through its unique products, which take you from the 1920′s-1990′s.
Bum-Cake's newest collection includes dresses, jewelry and accessories from the 1950's through the early 1990's. It's inspired by feminism, empowering women an making them feel beautiful and confident and the idea of being in love with one's self.
"The Smitten collection has great femme pieces that are perfect for the spring. Each piece is lightweight, which is nice for mildly warm weather. The palette of the collection is mainly neutral (including the printed pieces) with subtle details that encourage you to 'spring' forward in style this season. The prices range from $10-$65. Each piece can take you from day-to-night, making it the ultimate dynamic collection for spring."
I don't really do vintage. The most vintage I wear is probably earrings here and there that my mom passed on to me. I also have a plaid vintage party dress that I love to hate. My friend Kaidan loves vintage and she always looks absolutely amazing. Yesterday she had this ensemble she called the "frumpy librarian" look but it looked so right on her. I can totally see her rocking clothes from the "Just Smitten" collection.
The collection is available online for purchase or in person at the Built in Brooklyn Craft Fair on March 23rd in Brooklyn, NY.
For more information on BUM-CAKE Vintage, check out their website or shop online at their Etsy store. You can also follow them on Twitter or keep up on Facebook.

Style Spotlight: Claudia of WLDHRTS
Today's Style Spotlight features Claudia of WldHrts. Yayyy! That yaayy was cos Claudia has super awesome style and a super awesome blog. Here's a Q & A with her:
Thanks, Claudia!!
What's your style inspiration?
I get inspired in many different ways. My main inspiration comes from other fashion blogs. I love reading fashion blogs! It’s easier to read blogs rather than magazines, because you can relate to the people. Bloggers are just people like you and me and mostly, they express their true opinion, which gives the blog a personal touch. However, some bloggers’ opinion are bought by companies, which in my opinion is the worst that could happen to a blog. Bloggers should stay authentic and true to themselves. Besides bloggers, I think that Lykke Li and Charlotte Free are very inspirational people with great style.
How does your location influence your style?
I would say that my location does not influence my style at all. People here are mostly preppy styled, which I do not prefer. I am sure that if I was living in Berlin it would have an impact on my style though. I think that it is not the location which influences your style but rather the people you are hanging out with.
Describe your style in 3 words.
That is pretty difficult to do. I wear whatever I like to wear. I don’t spend too much time standing in front of my wardrobe, trying to decide what I should wear. I only do that for very important events but other than that, I go by anything. Sometimes I just throw on the first things I see when opening my wardrobe, simply because if I bought something, I must like it, so there’s no reason not to wear it. There are things I like in particular, such as chiffon and studs & spikes. I prefer simple colours such as black, white, beige, olive, light purple… Maybe my style can be described as rocker-chic, but that’s for people to decide for themselves how they see my style.
Favorite item in your wardrobe?
My UNIF Easy Rider Jacket. It is a perfect rocker leather jacket and I love the American Flag on the back. It represents a great part of my life, my love for America, where I used to live. I just love the mentality there, especially the East Coast.
Top 5 essential items?
Smartphone, chewing gum, labello, all kinds of jewelry, sunglasses (mostly in the summer)
All time favorite fashion trend?
The colour black. Anything goes with black and black goes with anything. It’s that simple – simple and classic.
A fashion accessory you always have with you?
The Flowerbomb perfume by Victor&Rolf if you can count that as a fashion accessory. It’s the only perfume I ever truly used, it’s perfect.
Why did you get into fashion blogging?
It somehow just happened. I started blogging about music, but the blog eventually developed into a blog with a focus on fashion and some bits of music. Fashion blogging gives me the opportunity to express my own style and my thoughts. I think it’s great.

Style Spotlight: MUGLER menswear FW 2013/14
"I Want You", Nicola Formichetti and Romain Kremer's latest show was very army inspired. We also liked the neon infusion. What we really liked was G-Dragon's song for Mugler, "I am Mugler".

Style Spotlight: Amazing fashion in "I Miss You" staring Yoon Eun Hye
"I Miss You" featuring Yoon Eun Hye and Micky Yoochun is a good drama. We're down to the last 3 episodes and I've share two recaps here and here so check them out. One of my favorite parts of this drama is the fashion! The stylists in this drama are always on point...from clothes to hair to accessories, it's always amazing and worth watching!
Yoon Eun Hye looks absolutely stunning in everything she wears. She makes it look so effortless too.
I absolutely love the color and texture of Eunjoo's jacket
Where on earth does one find a denim jacket like this? It looks like some major DIY work was put into it.

Style Spotlight: Promise | Follow me in 5 inch heels
This week's Style Spotlight features Promise of Follow me in 5 inch heels. I've followed Promise's blog for over a year and her style is just impeccable.
Promise is 21 and was recently hired as the Brand Coordinator of Virgo's Lounge. If I could describe her style in 3 words, it would be: trendy, comfortable and affordable. Whenever she posts her outfits online, either on her blog or on Twitter, it looks very girl next door and wearable. This is not something I can say about some style bloggers out there. Some times they wear outfits that get me thinking: "that's too expensive" or "I couldn't wear that."She posts amazing outfits from brands like Primark, H & M, Topshop and the like.
Check out Promise's blog or follow her on Twitter for some wonderful fashion goodness.

I also
love how she's able to transform basic pieces into chic fashion. Look at
how fierce she looks in a white shirt and denim pants. Isn't that what many ladies her age want: look fierce and not break the bank?! Thanks for representing, Promise!

It's been ages since our last Style Spotlight post. We're going to blame it on technical difficulties which is quite true. This weeks Style Spotlight is dedicated to Chic Therapy Accessories. Her store is on point yall. Check out some of her stuff:
Definitely "a celebration of culture, color and beauty".
Chic Therapy Accessories spun out of her love for wearing colorful African inspired accessories. "I decided to start making my own handmade pieces when it became difficult to get varieties that complimented my style." she says.
I bought bangles and earrings similar to the ones in the pictures below over a year ago and they are still beautiful till date.
Chic Therapy Acccessories say they strive to provide eclectic and fun accessories incorporating dynamic African fabrics sourced from the best crafters in Africa.
