It's taken me a full week to post this recap, dayuuum #fail! Anyways, in episode 18 & 19, the melodrama is getting to me. Here's where we left off from my last recap:
Jungwoo pulls out a gun to his fellow police officers in the midst of tears. SooYeon is weeping as well. They hide out in his wive's (police partner) father's house where SooYeon tells JungWoo the truth about Harry, his injury, his mom and his father's connection. He weeps and collapses on the ground. Dramatic!!
Eun joo takes Harry's mom to their house. Talk about a dumb decision! Harry's mom keeps making structures out of IV tubes. Does she have an endless supply of Ivy tubes hidden away somewhere? Anyways the scene ends with Harry's mom throwing a yelling fit when SooYeon's mom shows her pics of Han JungWoo.
Harry meets with Park Tae Kan and basically asks him to kill SooYeon because that's the most important thing to JungWoo just like how Harry lost the most important thing to him 14 years ago (his mom). What a messed up human being.
SooYeon and JungWoo have a day out fishing and grocery shopping. Then they decide to take a walk in the snow in the middle of a desserted road. I'm sorry who does that? Especially when you're running from bad guys. I can't imagine anyone going on walks when it's that cold either. Flashbacks of living in North Dakota
In episode 19 the SooYeon we saw earlier is back as she and Director Yoon are interrogated by the Team Leader. Director Yoon starts off by attacking SooYeon and blaming her for the deaths but she defends herself quite well. Even JungWoo is impressed.
Ah Reum tries to convince her mother (JungWoo's step mom) to tell the police the truth about Harry. How illogical is this story line? Why is that such a huge decision to make? Hwang Miran tells the cops about Harry and her husband, her husband is out of the picture. Duh!!
Meanwhile, Harry is losing his mind, literally. His childhood image keeps appearing to him and he has conversations with him. Talk about psycho. In this scene, Harry tells him "you did good". Yep..a child who murdered people at such a young age did good. Definitely.
While Harry is losing his mind, his mom goes out barefoot in the cold in search of him. She dies soon after and the episode ends with a positive DNA match for harry as a murderer in France. He killed the real Harry Borrison's parents because they abused their son.
That's how the episode ends: a face-off with the 3 main characters!
Thoughts
This drama is finally moving forward and I am really glad. But why did they have to kill off his mama though? Now Harry is truly alone. When reading online forums, some viewers accused SooYeon of being disloyal to Harry. She was friends with JungWoo for 3 months and with Harry for 14 years so apparently, her loyalties should lie with Harry. I'm sorry, he killed someone who was like a dad to her. That argument is invalid.
