David is a graduate student at the MIT media lab and the founder of Innovate Salone - a mentorship program for Sierra Leonan youth who need help developing their ideas. It was modelled after MIT's innovation competition with judges selecting eight finalists who receive $500 to continue development of their projects.
As a result of the viral video featuring Kevin, Innovate Salone has reached 50% of their 100k donation goal. David's hope is that with the help of Innovate, young people are able to develop their own solutions.
