Welcome To Pearlle Magazine. Africa, K-Pop, And Everything In Between.

Reminiscing Mondays: Favorite cartoons growing up in Nigeria

We did a quick survey of the Pearlle team to see what our favorite cartoons were as kids growing up in Nigeria. Here are the results in no particular order:

Tom and Jerry
We have a winner!! Almost everyone mentioned Tom & Jerry. Who's surprised?

Pinky & the Brain
Who remembers this one? It was so hilarious watching Brain, the scheming mice try unsuccessfully to take over the world. It's Pinky and the brain brain brain brain brain!

Daffy Duck
Who remembers Bucks Bunny's occasional friend/rival?

Bugs Bunny
Hilarious Bugs Bunny and his carrot.

The Flintstones
The theme song was probably one of our favorite parts of the entire show. It was so exciting to hear it before settling down to watch the entire episode. I looked up the lyrics on google only to find out that we'd been singing something totally wrong our entire childhood. Here are the correct theme song lyrics:

Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones.
They're the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.

Let's ride with the family down the street.

Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.

When you're with the Flintstones

you'll have a yabba dabba doo time.
A dabba doo time.
You'll have a gay old time.

Reminiscing Mondays is a weekly post by Pearlle Magazine's contributors, sharing their memories about growing up in Africa.
