Growing up in Nigeria, we played many board games but this was one of my favorites. I was recently watching a documentary on TV about Zimbabwe history when this game was talked about. I believe it is called Maruba (or Moruba) in Southern Africa.
I do not remember the rules but I believe the aim was to capture your opponents seeds
/beeds. This was one of the games we played at my grandma’s house. It also helped teach us basic arithmetic which was great!
We also loved playing Ludo and we’d play this all the time in Bauchi. I never really got into draught (draft), Monopoly or chess which were also popular. I miss playing African board games.
