Most parents monitor their kids facebook account; Why you should too

Most parents monitor their kids facebook accounts and even have their passwords.
I can confidently say that this is a very good thing; even more important now as the number of kids on facebook has increased.
Bullying, online predators and facebook itself being a major distraction if uncontrolled are some of the reasons why parents should monitor their kids facebook.

The study — which was conducted among 500 social media users – found that 92% of parents are Facebook friends with their children (of all ages) and more are turning to the site to monitor their kids’ interactions. Safety was named as the top reason for looking at their profiles (40%), followed by curiosity (15%).
But 55% of parents are also making sure the site isn’t it interfering with homework, chores or other activities. Other top concerns include not spending enough time with friends and family (45%), the potential of meeting strangers (41%), bullying others (17%) and being a victim of bullying (16%).
Meanwhile, a high majority – 72% — even have their kids’ Facebook passwords. (Lab42 didn’t provide details on which age demographics for their kids fall into this category.)

What's even better is that many kids support this and even interact a lot with their parents and vice versa; commenting on photos, status updates, etc.

Who We Are

Pearlle Magazine
Welcome to Pearlle Magazine, thanks for stopping by.

A couple of years ago, we began toying with the idea of starting a magazine. We had no idea what our focus would be, we just knew that we wanted a magazine. Fast forward to about 2 years later: we're finally doing it! 2011 was the year that we really started planning and in December 2011, we really began to put our thoughts into actions, and this is what you see here.

You may be wondering why we chose wellness as our theme. We have a couple of reasons, but I'll try to be brief. The word wellness encompasses so many aspects of our lives, and provides us with the hope of becoming better, which is something we all strive for.

Definitionofwellness.com defines wellness as "an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence". They also outline ten types of wellness namely social, occupational, spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, financial, mental and medical. This are all areas we will cover on Pearlle.

Around the last quarter of 2011, I began working towards developing a better me - physically and spiritually, and started to do tons of research on the web to guide me through this. I feel like this magazine could not have come at a better time, because this will be a huge growing experience for me, and I hope it will be for you as well.

I'm excited for 2012, especially excited to begin this journey with you.

Evernote: A must have app for android and iPhone users

Evernote is (in my opinion) the single most important app for anyone who has a smartphone be it a droid, an iPhone, a blackberry or a... ;)

Evernote is a note-taking app that is a perfect replacement for your default "Memo" that comes with that high school and college students use for taking notes, group projects and collaborating with other students.

Here's the catch: There's none :D
Evernote is 100% free from the App store and the Android market (and the other places where "the others" get their apps from lol). It is also available for the Windows PC as a free download.

Features
- The best feature: You're notes are always in sync across all the devices you own. Yeah, you can create a note on your computer using evernote and it is automatically available online for all your devices (provides they are connected to the internet).
- Record audio and attach it to your notes.
- Save clips of websites
- Take notes anywhere
- Plan your next trip
- Learn more on https://www.evernote.com/evernote/

Remember, get Evernote for your smartphone. I really doubt you will regret it.
